Believe and Trust

I've been thinking about my new word for this year for some time...it's something I began a few years ago and I've found it a good guide post throughout each year...I think about what I can improve upon, what I'd like to experience more of and ways to learn and grow...I ended up with a few words and had trouble narrowing it down this year! I decided on a mantra which includes my top 2 words: 'Believe and Trust'

'Believe'  Mixed media on canvas 8x8"

Over the holiday weeks, I made this painting, a small beginning for me into the world of mixed media with stitching on paper...I wanted to include a word that will be significant for me this year...'Believe' holds many meanings and lessons for me...Believing in myself more, examining my beliefs about what is possible for me in all areas of my life and also believing in the Universe, that higher power to assist me perfectly...if I believe it's possible then doors will open...

'Trust'  Mixed media on canvas 6x6"

I like having a word in my paintings to focus on, and having them hanging about the house helps to prompt me back to a positive place, just reading a single positive or inspiring word can automatically shift our focus of attention towards something uplifting...this little picture hangs just by our front door...

It is my intention for this year to examine and amend my beliefs (again) so they support me more fully and to trust in life more deeply so as I can allow my life's patterns to unfold more easily and more beautifully...

Moving forward with this mantra to anchor me through the year, I can imagine many improvements and positive changes occurring...last year was full of change and it taught me that change is a powerful and amazing thing, not something to be scared of but instead, something to embrace...it has laid some foundations within me that open my eyes to seeing things in a new way.

I look forward to seeing what you are creating and reading your words for the year, I wish you a very happy, healthy and creative 2013...I have a very good feeling about this year!
